Normally I skip these, but I just couldn't resist this one! Just couldn't!
As of now, Spanish and English I am fluent in. I don't really think I need an explanations for these, now do I? However, I have to say I need to take a Spanish for Spanish Speakers Class, this do to the fact that even though I *speak* Spanish, it doesn't mean I can *write* Spanish. I'm horrible at it to be honest, especially when it comes to the accents. But I suppose as long as I can orally communicate, it's good for now.
It's frustrates me to say that, I've been studying French for about 2 years now, and I still feel like I'm stuck at the beginning level. >_> For about half a year, I was self-taught (French for Dummies, I DO thank you). Then it was a class. I don't know. I would think by now I'd be at intermediate, but no, I feel stuck. And maybe this has to do with the fact that I bombed French 2. Partly self-choice I must admit. I don't know, it annoys me that I'm reading something in French, and I don't even get half of it, even worse when someone's speaking it. I guess I need to study this more intensely and get my ass to France soon.
Portuguese, ah wonderful, beautiful, Slavic sounding Portuguese. You make me happy. ^_^ Do to the fact that Portuguese and Spanish are the fraternal twins of the Romance Languages world, my Spanish has aided me in learning Portuguese. So far, Portuguese is self-taught. I was getting really good at it too, but I moved and the book I was using to learn Port somehow magically disappeared, never to be seen or heard from again. Combined with the fact that the all Portuguese channel I had got taken away, yeah, getting rusty. I can read it and get it, hearing it however, a work in progress. I can get the gist when spoken, but not much more. Been meaning to go to my local Portuguese mass, but I always sleep in....Eh.
Oh jeez, but why am I learning? I love languages, simple as that. Plus I want to be a fashion journalist one day and work for, say, French Vogue, or Russian Vogue, etc etc....
I'm learning, actually *trying* to learn some of other languages: Basically all the Romance Languages, some of the Slavic Languages, Greek, and German. It's fun!
Okay I'm done with this. Hahaha
